Cecilia Morin
Cecilia Morin feels at home with other people who share her Catholic faith. Through her involvement with Guadalupe parish, she has grown in understanding about her faith by sharing with others through bible studies, workshops, conferences and meeting others who are growing in their spiritual journey. Despite coping with a debilitating illness, Cecilia has enjoyed lending a helping hand in the parish throughout the past thirteen years. She has been involved in various ministries including greeting, doing readings and decorating for events. This fall, she is also looking forward to including singing to her list of involvements.
Cecilia graduated from Lay Formation three years ago. She feels that although her faith was already formed, she deepened her faith and her understanding of the Catholic Church. Cecilia describes faith as a process. It is like a medicine wheel. We begin our faith life through our parents and extended family and we mirror their faith journey. In adolescence, we begin to understand the sacraments and the commandments. In adulthood, we understand the spiritual values and virtues. In old age, we pass down our wisdom to the young and to others and the cycle continues. She believes that as we learn about the sacraments, the commandments and our gospel message, we grow in our spiritual journey and are led to our Creator.
Cecilia's hope is for all of us to have a better understanding of each other as we deepen our faith, as Jesus would want us to do. He is the Truth, the Way and the Life!
