Matthew Ramsay

Matthew RamsayMatthew sees good things happening in the Diocese of Saskatoon. After four years studying at seminary in Oregon, Matthew returned to Saskatoon to work in a parish for a year. He was very excited by what he saw. The parishes he visited were lively and welcoming. He also found outstanding people working at the diocesan pastoral centre who offer strong programs for the people in the diocese.

Particularly touching for Matthew are the lay-led movements in this diocese, such as Catholic Christian Outreach and Face to Face Ministries, which are doing amazing work touching people's hearts for Christ, and he feels blessed to be a part of these groups. Through CCO's Impact mission, which was held in the diocese this past summer, Matthew saw lives changed as people rediscovered the power and beauty of Christ and his Church. It was not only the missionaries who made this mission so effective, but the strong community of young Catholics who live in the diocese. At Face to Face's Ignite camp Matthew worked alongside more dedicated young Catholics and saw Christ touch the lives of everyone there.

Matthew RamsayThe people who make up these ministries have been witnesses to him of what the Church should always be: A community of people who believe, who pray together and who together are an image of Christ in the world. Praying, working and living alongside such faithful people inspires him in his path to the priesthood, and he is very excited to serve in this diocese as a priest.
