Marriage: Preparation and Enrichment

Marriage preparation and enrichment programs are provided at local parishes and at many supporting groups. Listed below are upcoming events to support your marriage.

Catholic Family Services

Catholic Family Services: offers weekend workshops in marriage preparation designed to help couples learn to better communicate feelings and ideas on relationship issues. They are held at various locations in Saskatoon and run three times per year (see above grid for any dates that are available). Catholic Engaged Encounter

Catholic Engaged Encounter (CEE) is an intensive weekend of preparation, in which each couple is offered the time and opportunity to question, examine, and deepen their relationship, share in community and be open to God's plan. Topics covered during the weekend include; self-awareness, values and ideals, community, sexuality, communication, decision making, Natural Family Planning, vocations, sacraments, prayer and unity. A weekend stay is necessary to keep the atmosphere generated by the Encounter - away from the distractions of everyday lives. Weekends are held two times a year in early spring. Second Marriage Preparation Sessions

The Diocese of Saskatoon has a team of highly evaluated couples in second marriages who will present two sessions specifically for couples for whom this is not their first marriage. These sessions are also very appropriate for couples when one or both have been in long-term non-married relationships previously or relationships where there are step-children. These sessions are part of the Diocese of Saskatoon's Marriage Preparation Core Curriculum.
