Stephanie CoontzStephanie Coontz teaches history and family studies at The Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington, and is Director of Research and Public Education for the Council on Contemporary Families. She is the author of Marriage: A History (2005) and The Way We Never Were: American Families and the Nostalgia Trap (1992) and other award winning books. Her work has been translated into French, Spanish, German, Norwegian, and Japanese. Coontz has testified about her research before the House Select Committee on Children,Youth and Families in Washington, DC. Her work has written articles and been featured in the many of the world's largest newspapers and magazines (i.e. New York Times, Newsweek, LIFE). She has appeared on many programs, such as the Today Show and Oprah Winfrey, as well as in several prime-time television documentaries, including ones hosted by Walter Cronkite and Barbara Walters. www.stephaniecoontz.com

www.reginaldbibby.comReginald Bibby holds the Board of Governors Research Chair in the Department of Sociology at the University of Lethbridge. Born and raised in Edmonton, he received a Ph.D. from Washington State University. In 2006, in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the nation, the Governor General appointed him an Officer of the Order of Canada. Dr. Bibby is one of the country's better known academics. His work has been covered in virtually all of Canada's major dailies and has received front cover treatment by Maclean's twice. His work has been covered extensively by many national television and radio programs.

Over the past three decades, he has been monitoring social trends in Canada through a series of well known national surveys. He is the author of Fragmented Gods (1987), There's Got to Be More! (1995), as well as The Boomer Factor (2006). In 2003 he conducted a significant national survey with the Vanier Institute of the Family on what Canadians want from family life. Kathy and Neil HeskinsKathy and Neil Heskins Neil and Kathy have been married 40 years, and have three grown sons, three grandsons and a granddaughter. They have been active in family ministry for 31 years, first giving Marriage Encounter weekends, and later working with engaged couples and giving retreats and evenings of reflection for married couples. Kathy teaches Theology and Pastoral Ministry at Dominican University in River Forest, where she directs a bachelor's degree in Pastoral Ministry and a Master's degree in Family Ministry. Neil is the Business Manager for Ascension Parish in Oak Park.

 

www.gaillardetz.comDr. Richard R. Gaillardetz currently holds the Margaret and Thomas Murray and James J. Bacik Endowed Chair in Catholic Studies at the University of Toledo in Toledo, Ohio. After receiving both an M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Notre Dame in Systematic Theology, from 1991 to 2001 Dr. Gaillardetz taught as an associate professor at the University of St. Thomas Graduate School of Theology in Houston, Texas. He has published numerous articles and authored seven books, including A Daring Promise: A Spirituality of Christian Marriage (2007).

Dr. Gaillardetz was a Catholic delegate on the U.S. Catholic - Methodist dialogue, 2000-2005. He is a past recipient of the Sophia Award (2000), offered annually by the faculty of the Washington Theological Union in Washington D.C. in recognition of a theologian's contributions to the life of the church. He has received numerous awards from the Catholic Press Association for articles he has written and is a popular speaker at theological and pastoral conferences. He is married to Diana Gaillardetz and they are the parents of four young boys: David, Andrew, Brian and Gregory. www.gaillardetz.com
