Social Justice
Responsibility and Accountability

This is a commission of the Bishop of Saskatoon and as such shall be responsible to him.

Main Objectives

to promote education in social justice particularly in parish communities.
to be responsible for the organization and implementation of various workshops, programs and conferences in the Diocese of Saskatoon.
to offer advice and make recommendations regarding social justice events in the diocese.
to ensure continuity and to provide regular evaluation of the present needs in social justice in order to determine future directions.
to provide periodically a written report and verbal presentation to the bishop and Council of Priests.
to provide support and greater co-operation among all who support social justice in the diocese.
to act as a liaison between the people of the diocese and the larger, including ecumenical, bodies involved in social justice, such as Inner City Ministry, Rural Life Ministry.
to study and promote the significance of social justice in the liturgical life of the church.
to evaluate and respond to the challenges of inculturation as related to social justice specific to the Diocese of Saskatoon (e.g. native people)
