On Saturday March 19th we are heading to Table Mountain to go tubing, skiing or snowboarding down the hill. We will be meeting at St. Michaels at 10:30am and heading out shortly after. We hope to arrive at Table Mountain at around 12:45. We will be on the hill from 1—4pm which is a half day. For those of you who wish to ski or snowboard, feel free to do so, though you are not allowed to bring your own skies or boards for lack of space (ski or snowboard boots are allowed). We should arrive back at St. Michaels around 7pm (roughly). The cost is $5 per person to help cover the cost of gas; however you are responsible for paying your way into the facility and any rentals you may require (see below for prices). On the way home we will be stopping in North Battleford for supper. So bring a few extra bucks for supper and any snacks you may want. The registration dead line is midnight, March 16th, so please call Matthew at 382 – 5503, Colm at 242 – 1500 or your youth minster if you plan on attending so we can make sure we have enough dirvers. You will also need a permission form which can be downloaded here or they can be picked up from your youth minister. If you don’t hand in your permission form and $5 by 10:30am on Saturday March 19th we are afraid we cannot let you come (legal stuff, blah, blah). Hope to hear from you soon. Prices Half Day: Tubing $8, Skiing Lift Pass: under 15 $17 over $23 (rentals: $13 for everything), Snowboard: under 15 $17 over $23 (rentals: $21 for everything). So 2011 has come, and we're ready to keep on rolling with awesome events!
To kick off the New Year we're inviting all High School Students to come out this Friday to DIG: I will follow you into the dark at St. Francis Xavier from 7-10:30 PM.
Come out dressed with your toboggans ready for some games in the dark, fun in the snow at Diefenbaker park, and sharing after! We will be talking about the darkness in our lives - clinical and spiritual. What is the truth? What are the myths? What are signs to look for in ourselves and our friends and how does our faith speak to this?
DIG is a monthly gathering for High School students sponsored by the YMO and supported by parish youth ministry leaders throughout Saskatoon. This year's theme is WHYtune, as we dive into moral issues and learn to form our conscience in faith to speak into the hard realities youth face.
DIG's yet to come are:
Friday Feb. 11th - I wanna be a ROCKSTAR @ Holy Family ParishSaturday March 19th - DIG goes to Table MountainFriday April 15th - I kissed a squirrel and I liked it @ Holy Spirit ParishFriday May 13th - Papa don't PREACH! - AKA our annual COUCH RALLY @ St. Anne's ParishJune - POOL PARTY - TBAAll DIG's are 7-11 unless otherwise advertized. Hope to see you there!

Just this past month, we hosted our first annual Bishop's Cup!
This was the brainchild of our Diocese's very own Fr. Kevin McGee with the intention to bring youth and religious together in a spirit of fun athletic competition. The evening began in the chapel of Bethlehem High School with a short prayer and blessing upon all those by Bishop Bolen, before breaking into teams and warming up.
The evening consisted of rotating 4 on 4 games with relgious and young adult leaders mixed in with the youth. After an hour or so youth the youth elected from their midst an all star team to play the priests and seminarians (and a couple young adults to help them out) for the right to lift the Bishop's Cup.
It began as a close encounter but inevitably, the youth pulled away and were victorious. Plans are now in the works to host another competition sometime in 2011, potentially in another sport each season... the priests are pushing for curling! We shall see. In the meantime,
Remember and look forward... http://www.youtube.com/user/ymosaskatoon
