Steps in Faith - Saskatoon Diocese

"Growing in our baptized, confirmed, Eucharistic identity is a life-long task" -Bishop Albert LeGatt.

The restored order of initiation sacraments in our diocese has children completing their initiation into our faith community and our parishes with the celebration of Confirmation and First Communion around the age of seven.

This beginning invites the celebration of new steps in our faith journey. As the first 'step' in this process, Bishop Bolen is inviting young people in grades 6-8 to begin a process of owning their faith through exploring the creed and applying it to their lives. This journey would lead to youth in Grade 8 to be invited to celebrate a reaffirmation of faith and parishes to affirm and support this 'step' in the faith formation of their young people.

Exploring the Creed

The components of the Steps in Faith process reflect the desire for it to be comprehensive and an intergenerational experience with youth connected to their local parish community. mirror the components of the parish preparation for and celebration of Confirmation with adolescents prior to the implementation of the restored order of initiation.
