WHAT IS YOUTH MINISTRY?

Youth ministry is the response of the Christian community to the needs of young people and the sharing of the unique gifts of youth with the larger community.  The emphasis is on relationships, not programming. It is NOT an optional ministry.

All youth ministry efforts are guided by three goals:
Goal 1:  To EMPOWER young people to live as disciples of Jesus Christ in our world today.
Goal 2:  To draw young people to RESPONSIBLE PARTICIPATION in the life, mission, and work of the Catholic faith community.
Goal 3:  To foster the total personal and spiritual GROWTH of each young person.

We invest in our young people with our time, talent and money to ensure the healthy growth & development of our youth.

WHERE DOES A PARISH START? Becoming A Youth Friendly Parish

"You will have to find ways of involving young people in projects and activities of formation, spirituality, and service, giving them responsibility for themselves and their work, and taking care to avoid isolating them and their apostolate from the rest of the ecclesial community." - Pope John Paul II

In simple terms he is telling us to reach out to young people and engage them in our community. We really want and need young people to part of our life and mission as church.  There are many ways that we can minister to, with, and for youth.

Priest, religious, layperson, young or old can help! Remember God qualifies the called! If you would like more information on training, startup or to have a personal visit or presentation to your parish community, pastoral council/finance council please contact
